Borrowing power calculator
A guide to how much you could borrow. Every lender assesses this differently, so I will confirm it against real lender policy.
Estimate only, using the figures you enter. Not a quote or offer of credit, and it does not consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. Loan products have a comparison rate, fees and charges.
How this works
- Enter income after tax, as it appears on your payslip.
- Borrowing power is tested at the greater of your rate plus 3% or 5.75%, as lenders do. Repayments shown use your actual rate.
- Living costs are the higher of what you enter and a minimum of $2,000 a month for one applicant or $3,000 for two, plus $650 for each dependant. Lenders use their own benchmarks.
- Credit cards count at 3.8% of the limit each month, even when the balance is paid off.
- Fees are not included, and the rate stays the same. Every lender treats income, expenses and debts differently, so I will confirm your figure against real lender policy.
