Credit Guide

This page summarises the key information in our Credit Guide. Before we provide you with any credit assistance, we will give you the full Credit Guide issued by our licensee, BLSSA Pty Ltd. If there is any difference between this page and that document, the licensee-issued Credit Guide applies.

What we do

We help you find and apply for home loans, commercial property loans, asset finance and car loans. We work with a panel of more than 40 lenders. We are not a lender and we don’t make the final decision on your application.

Our panel of lenders

We can access a range of lenders through our licensee’s panel, but we don’t have access to every lender or every product in the market.

In the 2025/26 financial year, the lenders we most often arranged credit with, and the share of our business placed with each, were:

Lender Share of loans
ANZ 30%
People First Bank 30%
Westpac 20%
Macquarie Bank 10%
Bank of China 10%

Our best interests duty

When we provide credit assistance for a home loan, we are required by law to act in your best interests and to prioritise your interests when we recommend a loan. This means we take the time to understand your objectives and circumstances and only recommend loans that are in your best interests.

Our other obligations

Before we recommend a loan or help you apply, we must make a preliminary assessment of whether the loan is not unsuitable for you. To do this we’ll ask about your requirements and objectives, and take reasonable steps to verify your financial situation.

You can ask us for a copy of the preliminary assessment for up to seven years after the credit is provided. If you ask within two years, we’ll give it to you within seven business days. After that, we’ll provide it within 21 business days. There is no charge.

How we are paid

Commissions from lenders. We are usually paid by the lender when your loan settles. This may include:

  • an upfront commission, calculated as a percentage of the loan amount drawn down at settlement
  • a trail commission, paid monthly or periodically while your loan continues, calculated as a percentage of the outstanding balance.

Commissions are paid to BLSSA as licensee, which then pays all or part of them to us. We’ll tell you the amount or estimated amount of commission in our credit proposal before you apply.

Fees you may pay. We don’t usually charge you a fee for our services. If a fee would apply, we will set it out in a credit quote before we provide credit assistance. You will not be charged any fee unless you have signed and accepted that quote.

Referrals. If someone referred you to us, we may pay them a fee or commission. We’ll disclose this to you.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with our service, please tell us first. Contact us on 0421 066 065, at info@circlefinance.com.au, or in writing. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within one business day where practicable and give you a final response within 30 calendar days. See our Complaints page for more detail.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, or we haven’t responded within 30 days, you can contact the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). AFCA provides fair and independent financial services complaint resolution that is free to consumers.
